THE LOOK AUTUMN 17
I read somewhere that a movie was being made of Flannery O’Conner’s (died at 39) short story ,A Good Man is Hard to Find. So I went back and read the short story again last week on way to Zurich. It had been a while but one more time it sent tremors through my body and soul and there was this one sentence that just wouldn’t go away this time: “She (the grandmother) would of been a good woman, if it had been somebody there to shoot her every minute of her life.” (It’s the man who shoots her that says this!) Yes, that is the one truth of my life and maybe one that you only understand when you are older: I always had to bulldozed to change into something better. Hope you are not my kind.
Have a lovely weekend.
