cph stands for Copenhagen.
I graduate from the renowned Kolding Designskole and while living and working as a Fashion Designer in Copenhagen I meet my husband on an intercontinental flight. Copenhagen is among the most exciting cities in the world but soon afterwards I have to decide. Copenhagen oder Bern? I pack my bags and move to Bern for love’s sake and it’s not very long before I find myself the owner of a store. I cannot cease to marvel at the twists and turns that my life has taken. For years I work alone weekdays in the store and Sundays help my husband with the joys and sorrows of the village parish where my husband is the vicar. It is such a wonderful blend. Then the next unexpected. My husband leaves his parish work and opens cph Zurich. We are now husband and wife and business partners. Not an easy mix many would say.
Anyway some years later I begin designing my own collection. I call it simply KLÆR, simply – CLOTHING. It’s an old Danish word. It reminds me of what clothing was only a few decades ago und what it still should be – high quality and handcrafted. Clothing made to last and timeless. The complete opposite of Fast Fashion. Johnson and I work with passion and commitment to produce a collection that is totally unique. KLÆR is sewn in Switzerland with fabulous fabrics from Italy. It’s a miracle that sparkles of the feminine. It is quiet luxury at unbelievably affordable prices.
